Abul Kasem Khan and Kamrul Islam have been re-elected as president and senior vice-president of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry respectively for the year 2018.
Riyadh Hossain has been elected vice-president.
The new board of directors took over the charge at the 56th annual general meeting of DCCI held at its auditorium in the capital on Saturday.
The newly elected directors are Andaleeb Hasan, Md Al Amin, Mohammad Bashiruddin, Nuher L Khan, S M Zillur Rahman and Waqar Ahmad Choudhury.
Abul Kasem completed his higher education in business administration in 1992 and worked in the banking sector from 1992 to 1996. He later joined his family business in 1996 and is currently a director of AK Khan & Co Ltd, which is one of the oldest private sector business conglomerates in Bangladesh operating since 1945.
He is also the managing director of AK Khan Telecom Ltd. He holds directorship of AKPEN Ltd and Akceycom Ltd.
Kamrul Islam is the chairman of Mashnoons Limited and partner of Islam Aftab Kamrul & Co chartered accountants. He completed his masters in accounting from the University of Dhaka. He is fellow member of ICAB and ICSB. He is also the director of Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Sonali Bank Ltd.
Riyadh Hossain completed his higher education in business administration from North South University. He is the proprietor of RH International, an import and export trading company. He is also the co-founder of Appnometry Limited, a software company.
