A five-day REHAB Fair-2017 to showcase real estate and housing products began at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka on Thursday.
Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed inaugurated the fair that has 205 stalls of real estate and housing companies along with the participation of 30 building materials producing firms and 13 financial institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, Tofail Ahmed said none will be allowed to run real estate and housing business in the country except the members of Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh.
He said he would talk to finance minister AMA Muhith about the problems the real and housing sector is now facing.
State minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid said the government will start providing the industrial sector gas connection from April of the next year.
Acting president of REHAB Nurunnabi Chowdhury presided over the opening session of the 5-day fair while vice-president (first) Aliakat Ali Bhuiyan, vice president (finance) Sohel Rana, REHAB director and fair committee chairman Md Shakil Kamal Chowdhury and REHAB director Kamal Mahmud, among others, spoke at the programme.
Interested people can visit the fair from 10am to 9pm paying entry fee of Tk 50 each. Anyone can visit the fair five times by purchasing a multiple ticket at Tk 100.
A number of real estate companies have offered different facilities including discount on purchase of flats and plots by paying at one go.
REHAB offers different prizes, including car, motorcycle, fridge, TV and Washing Machine against entry tickets.
