Popular theatre troupe Prangonemor will stage its popular play Ami o Rabindranath in Delhi, India on December 16 marking Victory Day, which will be celebrated on Saturday.
The theatre troupe will stage the play at the Habitat Centre at Lodhi Road in Delhi at 7pm, said a press release. Besides, the troupe will also stage another of its popular productions Irsha, which was written by Syed Shamsul Haq and directed by Ananta Heera, on Sunday.
Prangonemor has been invited by Habitat Centre and Delhi-based troupe Greenroom Theatre to stage the plays in India.
Ami O Rabindranath, written and directed by Nuna Afroz, is based on a fictional plot and revolves around a diehard fan of Rabindranath Tagore. The fan meets Rabindranath at different stages of his life at Shilaidaha Kuthibadi in Kushtia. Through portrayal of different meetings between Tagore and the fan named Athai, played by Nuna Afroz, the play depicts a Tagore aged 21, 29, 69 and 80 on stage.
The troupe left Dhaka for Delhi on December 13.
