BRTA files 124 cases for traffic rule violation

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority filed 124 cases and realised Tk 3.49 lakh in fines for violation of traffic rules in Dhaka and its adjacent areas on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The mobile courts of the authority also seized documents of 14 motor vehicles and sent four vehicles to dumping station for violating traffic rules under Motor Vehicles Ordinance 1983.
BRTA’s executive magistrates operated the three mobile courts, said a press release issued by the authority.
BRTA executive magistrate Md Mazharul Islam, who operated a roaming mobile court in Shahbagh and Postogola areas, filed 44 cases and realised Tk 1.27 lakh in fines, seized documents of 10 vehicles and sent two vehicles to dumping station.
In Shia Mosjid and Arambagh areas, BRTA executive magistrate Muhammad Abdur Rahim Shujan filed 42 cases, realised Tk 1.39 lakh in fines and seized documents of four vehicles.
Executive magistrate Md Munibur Rahman operated a mobile court in Golapshah Mazar and Azimpur areas, where he filed 38 cases, realised Tk 83,000 in fines and sent two vehicles to dumping station.
