The Institute of Health Technology, Rajshahi on Thursday formed a three-member probe body to investigate Wednesday’s attack on its female students allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League activists, which had left at least five students injured.

The other members were assistant professors Nurul Huda and Selim Khan.
At least five female students of the institution were injured in the BCL attack when they were protesting against BCL men’s harassment and intrusion into their residential halls.
Following the attack, the authorities closed the institution for an indefinite period and asked its students to leave the residential halls by Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, BCL central committee expelled the IHT unit’s president Zahidul Islam, general secretary Anwar Hossain Tuhin and two vice-presidents Mizan Ali and Faisal Hossain from the organisation for violating organisational rules.
On Wednesday night, BCL Rajshahi metropolitan unit dissolved the IHT unit.
Students alleged that some BCL men along with outsiders entered into the female residential halls on December 3 and threatened to rape them as some female students had not taken part in a BCL event earlier that day.
