Short film criticises terrorism

A short film titled ‘Purnagrasher Kal’ (Tale of an Ecliptic Time), which criticises terrorism, is scheduled to be released in January, 2018.
The film has been directed by Zayed Siddiki, while Helal Mohiuddin has written the film’s story and dialogues.
Noted actor Jayanta Chattopadhyay plays the protagonist in the film. Artistes from different theatre troupes including Kamal Ahmed, Maniruzzaman Moni, Koushik Saha, Abir Azad, Fatema-tuz-Zohra and others have played different characters in the film.
The film revolves around an artist who becomes agitated after seeing the impact of terrorism on society.
‘Many countries including Bangladesh have been affected by terrorism. We have tried to address the issue in our film, which shows the victory of humanity over brutality,’ Zayed Siddiki told New Age.
Siddiki also informed that the film, currently in its post production, was shot in October and November. Pantho Rahman is the cinematographer, Nahid Masud is the sound designer and Shantonu Halder is the art director of the film.
‘We are planning to hold the premiere show of the film in Dhaka and after that the film will be screened across the country. We also have plans to send the film to local and international festivals,’ added the director.
