A new political combine styled ‘Jukta Front’ will soon be floated in the country’s political arena.
The decision to form the combine was finalised on Monday at a meeting held at Jatiya Samajtangtrik Dal faction president ASM Abdur Rob’s Uttara residence in the capital.
Four political parties Bikalpadhara Bangladesh, JSD, Krishak Sramik Janata League and Nagarik Oikya would be the partners of the alliance.
Emerging from the meeting, JSD general secretary Abdul Malek Ratan told New Age that the leaders of the four political parties had finalised formation of Juta Front.
Bikalpadhara president AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury would be the first chairman of the alliance, he said.
The alliance which would operate outside the influences of Awami League and Bangladesh Nationalist Party would soon be floated formally through a press conference, Ratan added.
The formation of the alliance was finalised after a series of meetings held during over a year, he said.
Gana Forum led by Dr Kamal Hossain was initially involved with the process but it was eventually dropped from it.
Bikalpadhara president Badruddoza Chowdhury and general secretary Abdul Mannan, JSD faction president Rob, KSJL president Abdul Kader Siddique, Nagarik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, among others, attended the meeting.
