Matua community celebrate Nabanna Utsab in Barishal.

Matua Samprodaya, a sect of Hindu religion, celebrated Nabanna Utsab on Friday in Barisal city.
On the occasion the members of Matua sect arranged day-long programmes including discussion, religious programmes,  voluntary blood donation camps, cultural functions at Adi Shamshan temple and brought out a colorful procession in the city.
 The slogan of the festival was ‘Natun Dhanney Hobey Nabanna Aaj Shukrabar’ 
Bijoy Krishna Dey, businessman and Hindu community leader, inauguarted the event as the chief guest. Matua community leader professor Rabindra Natth Adhikari presided over the occasion. Among others, Bimal Chakraborty, Manik Mukherjee Kudu, Dr Gokul Chandra Biswas and Bipul Priya Shikdar attended the event.
A colorful procession was brought out from Amritangan, the Matua temple on Adi Shamshan Ghat premises.
