Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club returned to second spot of the Bangladesh Premier League points table following their 3-0 win over Mohammedan Sporting Club at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
The second match of the day between Team BJMC and Brothers Union ended in a 1-1 draw.
Gambian forward Solomon King, Nigerian midfielder Raphael Odoyin and another midfielder Zahed Parvez Chowdhury scored a goal apiece for Jamal to seal their eighth win of the League.
With the win, Jamal were now in second position with 27 points from 12 matches, two points behind leaders Chittagong Abahani while Mohammedan remained on sixth position with 17 points.
Solomon gave Jamal the lead in the 39th minute tapping home a rebound into an empty net after winger Jabed Khan’s initial shot was blocked by Mohammedan keeper Russell Mahmud Liton.
Raphael doubled the lead four minutes into the second half heading home following a neat corner of Zahed Parvez.
Zahed Parvez scored the third goal for Jamal just four minutes later when his diving header following a cross of Solomon found the back of the net.
Meanwhile, in the second match Al-Mamun gave BJMC the lead in the 41st minute but Congolese forward Siyo Junapio restored the parity in the 77th minute to give Brothers a crucial point.
With the outcome, BJMC remained on seventh position with 16 points while Brothers remained on 11th position with seven points.
