2-day recitation festival ends at RU

A two-day recitation festival by recitation organisation Swanan ended at Rajshahi University campus on Friday.
The organisation celebrated its three decades of cultural activities through the festival titled ‘Satya Bol Supothe Chol Ore Amar Mon’, which was held at the Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium of RU.
On Thursday eminent poet Hayat Saif inaugurated the two-day festival by hosting the national flag in front of the auditorium. Among others, noted writer Hasan Azizul Huq, eminent freedom fighter and writer Ruhul Amin Pramanik were present at the programme.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Hasan Azizul Huq said recitation is an art and everybody should practice recitation.
Freedom fighter Ruhul Amin Pramanik urged the university authority to protect the country’s first Shaheed Minar, established on 20 February 1964 by the students at the university.
Following the inaugural programme, the current and former members of the organisation brought out a colourful procession and placed wreath at the university central Shaheed Minar.
In the afternoon the members of the organisation held a recitation programme at the auditorium where the current and former members of Swanan recited poems by renowned poets.
