A two-day English extempore speech competition titled A Contest on Extempore began at on Shahjalal University of Science and Technology campus in Sylhet on Friday morning.
Shahjalal University Speakers Club, a student organisation to practice English language
and literature in order to enhance efficiency to deliver public speeches instantly on any subject, has arranged the programme.
The club president Mahiuddin Rubel told New Age that Habiganj Brindaban College lecturer Noman Ahmad, Leading University lecturer Ahsan
Tohel, Ananda Niketan School’s faculty coordinator John Paul Surgent and SUSC former president Abul Hossain attended the inaugural session on the first day of the contest.
SUST social science professor Faruk Uddin and English department associate professor Alamgir Taimur would be the judges of the competition, he added.
