The Sunamganj police on Friday detained four Indian artistes, including a dance director, from Tahirpur as they were unable to produce the necessary approval from the concerned ministry to stage and record a performance on Bangladesh land.
Hours later, they were sent to the immigration police of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, said Tahirpur police officer-in-charge Nandan Kanti Dhar.
‘Following a directive of higher authorities the Indian artistes were sent to the HSIA immigration police in the afternoon,’ he added.
He said a team of four artistes, including dance director Rajesh Kumar Yadav alias Baba Yadav, his associate Biplab Kumar, Sanjay Kumar
and Rajesh Kumar, reached in Tangua Inn at Tahirpur upazila in the district in the morning.
They were supposed to stage a dance and record it at the Tanguar Haor and its adjacent areas for an under-production film, named Poramon Tu, directed by Rayhan Rafin of Jazz Multimedia Limited, he said.
