The 45th founding anniversary of Juba League, youth wing of ruling Awami League, will be celebrated today in a befitting manner.
Bangladesh Awami Juba League is the first youth organisation of Bangladesh, founded by Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni, at the
directive of the country’s founding president, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, through a youth convention at Institution of
Engineers, Bangladesh in Dhaka on November 11, 1972.
The organisation has chalked different programmes to mark the anniversary which include hoisting of national and party flags at its central office in the capital at 6:30am, paying tributes to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing floral wreaths at his portrait at Dhanmondi 32 at 8:00am and paying homage to martyred Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani and martyrs of August 15, 1975 at Banani graveyard at 9:00am and offering of fateha.
Dhaka city South and North units of Juba League will bring out a colourful procession from east gate of historic Suhrawardy Udyan at 2:00pm today. The procession will end at Bangabandhu Bhaban after parading different city streets.
Apart from central programme, district and upazila units of Jubo League will also organise separate programmes.
In a statement on the eve of the anniversary, Awami Juba League president Omar Faroque Chowdhury and general secretary Harunur Rashid urged all leaders and workers to make the programmes of the day a success.
