Int’l programming contest regional finals begins in city

The department of computer science and engineering of University of Asia Pacific has organised the two-day regional final round of International Collegiate Programming Contest, titled 2017 ACM-ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest for the second time.
Information and Communication Technology Division secretary Subir Kishore Choudhury and University Grants Commission chairman Professor Abdul Mannan inaugurated the event on the University of Asia Pacific campus in the capital on Friday.
During the inauguration, UAP vice-chancellor and Asia Dhaka Regional Contest director Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury said, ‘ACM-ICPC is an annual programming competition. A total of 150 teams of 85 universities from home and abroad are participating in this year’s contest.’
The world final of the competition will be held at Peeking University of Beijing in China in April 15-20 in 2018.
