Syed Jahangir’s solo show at Abinta Gallery begins today

Octogenarian artist Syed Jahangir’s 42nd solo exhibition will open today at Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts at Badda in the capital.
Titled ‘Memories Beyond Time’ the show will feature a total of 60 paintings and drawings. Finance Minister AMA Muhith is scheduled to inaugurate the exhibition in the evening.
Syed Jahangir is known for his own distinctive style and art works portraying the lives of rural, marginalised people, nomads and scenic beauty of Bangladesh.
An ever-experimental artist, Syed Jahangir has often tried his hand at exploring new mediums. His upcoming show will display recent works by the artist based on themes like the rural and nomad people, boats, rivers and plight of the Rohingyas.
Proceeds from the sales of Syed Jahangir’s paintings and drawings will be donated to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund to help the Rohingya refugees.
The exhibition will remain open for all till December 1.
