Nationwide youth film workshop underway

A nation-wide filmmaking workshop for youths commenced from Sunday at Habiganj and Kushtia district branches of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Bangladesh Short Film Forum has organised the workshop titled ‘1 Minute-er Chalachitra Nirman Karmosala-2017-18’ (One Minute Film Making Workshop 2017-18) in association with UNICEF and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The four-day workshop, which aims to create new filmmakers, will eventually take place in all the 64 districts of the country.
Juveniles and youths aged between 12 to 20 years old are participating at the workshop. As part of the workshop the participants will have to create a one minute films.
Local filmmakers and film experts are conducting the workshops. Secretary general of BSFF Maridul Mamun is coordinating the project.
‘Filmmaking is mostly Dhaka centered in our country. Therefore, the talented filmmakers outside Dhaka do not get enough exposure. Through the nation-wide workshops we hope to provide a platform to talented filmmakers across the country,’ said Maridul Mamun.
