Cultural organisation Chhayanaut celebrated autumn, the third season of Bangla calendar, through a vibrant cultural show at its auditorium in Dhanmondi on Friday.
Chhayanaut artistes presented Rabindranath Tagore’s songs glorifying autumn in chorus and solo performances at the show.
Tagore singers Partha Pratim Roy, Suma Roy, Kanchan Mostafa, Mostafizur Rahman Turza, Sutapa Saha, Sudip Sarkar, Saikat Mukherjee and Naima Islam entertained the audience with solo performances, while child and young artistes of Chhayanaut staged group performances at the event.
The cultural show commenced with a dance recital syncronised with a chorus performance of Tagore’s famous autumn song Dekho Shukatara Ankhi Mele Chay by child artistes of Chhayanaut.
Partha pratim Roy in solo presented Tagore’s nature song Pohalo Pohalo Bivabari and Suma Roy rendered a song from Tagore’s Gitanjali Amal Dhabal Paley Legechhe to the delight of the audience.
Next young artistes of Chhayanaut staged a colourful dance performance syncronised with the Tagore song Tomar Mohon Rupey Ke Roy Bhule.
Mostafizur Rahman Turza in solo rendered Amar Raat Pohalo, Sutapa Saha sang Tomra Ja Bolo Ta Bolo, Sudip Sarkar presented Ebar Obogunthan Kholo and Abhoya Dutt sang Helafela Sarabela, among others. The songs depicted the beauty of autumn as seen and expressed by Rabindranath Tagore.
In-between the solo performances the audience was entertained with chorus rendition of songs like Aj Pratham Phuler, Sharater Aj Kon Etithi and dance recitals by child artistes.
The programme ended with a dance recital synchronised with popular Tagore song Aj Amader Chhuti by child artistes of Chhayanaut.
