At least eight primary schools were washed away by the River Padma in Naria and Jajira upazilas in Shariatpur.
Several hundred students and teachers of the schools are continuing their activities under the open sky.
Officials said that severe erosions along the Padma were taking place in the districts due to raised water flow with strong current.
District primary education officer Abul Kalam Azad said that at least seven primary schools of Jajira, Bhedorganj and Naria upazilas were claimed by the Padma.
The authorities concerned were informed about the incident, he said, adding that permanent schools would be built after getting approval from the higher authorities.
