3-day basic training for journalists begins at JU

A three-day workshop titled ‘fundamental training on journalism’ began in Jahangirnagar University on Tuesday.
Jahangirnagar University Journalists’ Association in association with the Press Institute of Bangladesh organised the workshop at JUJA office.
JUJA adviser Professor Farid Ahmod inaugurated the workshop while Shobnom Azim, an assistant professor of the department of mass communication and journalism of Dhaka University and Mir Mashrur Zaman, news editor of Channel I were present as the trainers.
Conducted by JUJA president Moudud Ahmmed Sujan, JU coordinator of PIB Jilhas Uddin Nipun, JUJA vice-president Ariful Islam Nehal, joint secretary Saiful Islam, treasurer Niloy Mamun, office secretary Nur Alam were also present.
A total of 38-campus correspondents of different online and print newspapers are taking the training.
On the second day (Wednesday), Mir Fazla Rabbi, lecturer of the department and Istiak Reza, director (News) of Ekattor Television will train the participants.
The workshop is timetabled to be concluded on Thursday through a certificate distribution ceremony.
