Prime minister Sheikh Hasina, now on an official visit to the United States, would return home on October 7.
‘The prime minister will return home on October 7 via London,’ prime minister’s press secretary Ihsanul Karim told BSS over phone from Washington yesterday night.
Sheikh Hasina underwent a successful gallbladder surgery at a Washington hospital on September 25.
‘The prime minister is now well and she is keeping round-the-clock contact with her office in Dhaka,’ the press secretary said.
Sheikh Hasina travelled to the US capital from New York on September 22 after attending the 72nd UN General Assembly session.
After staying in Washington for a week, she was scheduled to return home on October 2 via London.
The premier arrived in New York on September 17 to join the UN annual event.
