Nipa to judge dance contest in Sydney

Noted dancer Shamim Ara Nipa will be flying to Sydney, Australia to attend a weeklong cultural competition as a jury member.
Diganta Corporation, a Sydney-based organisation of expatriate Bengalis, will organise the competition for Bengali youths living in Australia. The weeklong event, which will commence from October 1, will include three categories -- dance, acting and singing. Nipa will judge the dance segment of the contest.
‘I am looking forward to participate at the event,’ Nipa told New Age.
Nipa informed that she will perform a dance recital in the grand finale of the competition on October 7.
Shamim Ara Nipa also talked about her other ventures. The dancer said that she and her students from her dance organisation Nrityanchal will stage a dance drama titled ‘Abhayamangal’ at a Puja Mandap in capital’s Banani today.
Nipa will leave Dhaka for Sydney on September 29 and will return to Bangladesh on October 10.
