Two new children’s books namely Chhotoder Muktijuddher Kotha and Kishoreder Nazrul by Tagore researcher and language movement veteran Ahmed Rafiq were unveiled at a programme held at Purba Paschim Book Stall in Sukrabad in the capital.
Publication house Anyaprakash organised the programme, which also marked 88th birthday of Ahmed Rafiq. Rafiq’s birthday was on September 12.
Eminent author Selina Hossain, noted researcher Mafidul Haque, writer of children’s book Ali Imam, Nazrul researcher professor emeritus Rafiqul Islam and noted poet Muhammad Samad, among others, were present at the programme.
In his speech, Ahmed Rafiq said that he started writing books for children to let them know about the true history of the liberation war. ‘The aim of the book Chhotoder Muktijuddher Kotha is to ignite patriotism in the hearts of the youngsters. On the other hand, Nazul is my favorite poet and I am a follower of his political ideology. Therefore, I have written the book Kishoreder Nazrul,’ said Rafiq.
