United Kingdom’s prime minister’s trade envoy to Bangladesh Rushanara Ali, MP, on Monday said her country will stand beside Bangladesh over rohingya crisis.
‘Our government and people of UK apply pressure on the Myanmar authority to end the terrible treatment on Rohingya and human right violation what is described by the United Nations as ethnic cleansing,’ she said.
UK member of Parliament made the statement during a meeting with commerce minister Tofail Ahmed at his secretariat office in Dhaka. She is visiting Bangladesh leading a high-level British business delegation.
She said Bangladesh is facing great challenges along the Myanmar border as refuge inflow has increased to a total of 900,000 people, including 450,000 people displaced previously.
