Rape evidence found

Doctors have found rape evidence in the post-mortem report of Jakia Sultana Rupa, who was killed after being gang raped in a running bus.
The medical team, formed to conduct autopsy on the body of Rupa, submitted the report to district civil surgeon on Tuesday afternoon, said Tangail General Hospital residential medical officer Saiful Islam Khan.
Rupa was killed due to the severe injuries in her head and before her death the 27-year old woman was raped, said the autopsy report.
On August 25, Rupa was killed after being gang raped in a running bus when she was returning to Sherpur after attending the teacher registration examination in Mymensingh.
After recovery of the body in Panchmail area of Mahupur upazila, it was buried at Tangail central graveyard as an unidentified body on the following day after post-mortem examinations.
Later, district administration exhumed Rupa’s body and handed it over to her family for proper
burial.
On August 28, police arrested five people, including the bus helper, driver and its supervisor, in Mymensingh in this connection.
The five arrested confessed their involvement in the heinous crime before a court.
Rupa, a resident of village Asanbari of Tarash upazila in Sirajganj, completed her Masters from Bogra Azizul Haque College and was studying law at Dhaka Ideal Law College.
She was working at Unilever Bangladesh Limited at its Sherpur branch.
