Aminia, oldest Awadhi chain of India’s Kolkata, introduced a restaurant at Uttara in the capital on Tuesday.
Specialising mainly in the East Indian Mughlai cuisine, the restaurant explores Awadhi biryani chap, Irani khichdi, Aminia special curry alongside mihidana with rabri and firni.
The renowned Kolkata franchise started its journey in 1929 for Mughlai lovers as there specialty and now has seven chain restaurants in Kolkata of India alone.
Aminia in sector 3 of Uttara, the first outlet in Bangladesh, offers seating plans accommodating up to 85 diners both indoor and outdoor.
Aminia co-founder and partner Seema Haider Chowdhury said, ‘To facilitate Bangladeshi people with easy access to our historical and culturally shared cuisine with India at a reasonable cost, it is also providing employment.’
