While hundreds of Eid-teleplays and telefilms were aired in the country’s television channels in the Eid-ul-Azha, very few could attract viewers. However, a few productions like Mizanur Rahman Aryan directed telefilm Boro Chhele were able to grab the viewer’s attention.
The telefilm, aired on the fourth day of Eid-ul-Azha on Channel 9, was an instant hit. After its airing on the channel, the telefilm has been viewed over 3.4 million times on youtube.
Responding to the viewers’ demand Channel 9 has decided to air the telefilm for three consecutive days at 11am starting from today.
‘The telefilm has received overwhelming response from the viewers. We were hopeful that viewers would like the telefilm but we did not know that it would make such an impact’, said director Mizanur Rahman Aryan.
‘After the telefilm was aired I received many calls from viewers and my colleagues in the industry who told me how Boro Chhele made them cry’, added Aryan.
Boro Chhele, starring Apurba and Mehazabien, revolves around the story of a firstborn son whose family depends on him financially. The teleplay features how he sacrifices his dreams in order to support his family.
