Noted Bangladeshi artistes to perform at South Asian music fest

A four-day classical music festival featuring eminent artistes from both Bangladesh and India will be held from September 21 to September 24 in Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
Blues Communications, which organises Bengal Classical Music Fest and Jazz & Blues Fest, is organising the festival titled ‘South Asian Music Festival: Timeless Classical Echoes.’
The festival will feature local Tagore singer Shama Rahman along with Indian classical musician Homayoun Sakhi (rubab), classical singer Kaushiki Chakraborty and instrumentalist Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma (santoor) on the opening day.
Noted Bangladeshi singer Luva Nahid Choudhury, Indian maestros Shubhendra and Saskia Rao (sitar and cello duet), singer Sawani Shende and Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia (flute) will perform at the event on the second day.
Local Tagore artiste Laisa Ahmed Lisa will perform at the programme along with Indian artistes Niladri Kumar (sitar), Deepak Pandit (violin) and Pt. Birju Maharaj (kathak dance) on the third day.
The concluding day’s programme will feature performances by local Tagore singer Rezwana Choudhury Bannya and Indian classical musician Ustad Shujaat Khan (sitar), singer Vidushi Bombay Jayashri and Dr. L Subramaniam.
