Doob to participate in two int’l film fests

Mostafa Sarwar Farooki’s latest venture Doob (No bed of Roses) has been selected for the main competition segment of El-Gouna Film Festival, which will be held in Cairo, Egypt from September 22 to September 29. The film will also participate at the Busan Film Festival, which is going to be held in Busan, South Korea from October 12 to October 21.
Farooki said in Cairo Doob will compete with renowned films including Aki Karusmaki’s The Other Side of Hope, Ziad Doueiri’s The Insult, Ana Urushadze’s Scary Mother and Elina Psikou’s Son of Sofia in the competition section.
Farooki also informed that Doob has been selected for Window on Asian Cinema segment at the prestigious Busan Film Festival.
An indo-Bangla joint-venture film Doob starring Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, Nusrat Imrose Tisha and Parno Mittra is scheduled to hit the local cinemas on October 27.
