Long route bus operators will start selling advance tickets on August 18 to facilitate home-goers’ travels out of Dhaka to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha at their family homes.
Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners’ Association chairman Faruk Talukder Sohel told New Age on Saturday that advance tickets for journeys from August 19 would be available on August 18 morning at Gabtoli terminal.
He, however, expected the demands for tickets of eid-time journeys to pick up from August 24.
At the terminal, tickets would be available mainly for northern and south-western districts, said operators.
Faruk said that the operators would be able to collect their advance tickets from 6:00am on August 18.
Shymoli Paribahan managing director Ramesh Chandra Ghosh said that they were expecting that the demands for advance tickets for journeys between August 26 and August 31 would be highest.
