IU female student missing for four days

A female student of Islamic University in Kushtia remained missing from the campus since Wednesday.

Smrity Khatun, 25, a third year student of IU English department of the university, is the daughter of Anwar Hossain of village Mokumpur in Kushtia.

According to family members, Smrity went missing after coming to the campus to attend scheduled classes on Wednesday morning. Since then she did not return home.

Smrity’s father lodged a general diary with Islamic University police station in this regard, said IU police officer-in-charge Ratan Sheikh. He said they were trying to trace Smrity.

IU proctor M Mahbubar Rahman told New Age that the university authorities informed the matter to the law-enforcement agencies after getting a written complaint from the family members.
