Ruling Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday called on the party’s leaders and activists to get ready to resist the conspiracies of Bangladesh National Party to foil the next general election.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, was addressing a discussion to mark August 15, the death anniversary of the founding president of the country Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members, in front of the Bangabandhu Bhaban, in Dhanmandi, Dhaka.
Bangladesh Awami Sechchasebak League, one of the party’s associate organisations, arranged the discussion.
‘BNP had failed to wage movement against the government and now started holding various conspiracies after the verdict on the 16th amendment to the constitution,’ Obaidul Quader said.
‘BNP is trying to topple the government on the issue of the verdict, but their dreams will not come true,’ Quader added.
He instructed the leaders and activists of the party to remain alert to foil the conspiracies against the government.
Chaired by president of the organization, Mollah Abu Kaiser, the presidium member of AL Farouq Khan, organising secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, cultural secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil and general secretary of the organisation Pankaz Debnath and others took part in the discussion.
