Tagore musical evening at BNM

Rabindra Sangeet artiste Laisa Ahmed Lisa entertained the audience by presenting popular Tagore songs at a solo show held at Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum on Wednesday.
Lisa, also general secretary of Chhayanaut, sang Tagore’s romantic, nature and devotional songs at the programme.
The singer commenced the show with popular Tagore song Badolo Diner Prothom Kadom Phul and presented songs like Aj Jemon Kore Gaichhe Akash, Aji Tomai Abar Chai Shonabare, Amare Jodi Jagale Aji, Mono Mor Megher Songi, Je Raate Mon Duarguli, Mone Ki Didha Rekhe Gele, Dip Nibe Geche Momo, Aji Jhorer Raate and others.
Laisa Ahmed Lisa was introduced to music at an early age by her father. She learnt Rabindra Sangeet from Ghulam Murshid, Waheedul Haq and Sanjida Khatun. She learnt classical music from Ustad Amaresh Roy Chowdhury and Ustad Rabiul Hussain.
Till date Lisa has released 12 albums from HMV Saregama and Bengal Foundation. She is also professor and current chairperson of Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Jagannath University.
