The water level in the River Ganges, River Brahmaputra and River Meghna and other major rivers except hilly rivers will continue to rise in the next 24 hours, says the latest bulletin of the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre.
The FFWC bulletin says that the data collected from India shows that there is no heavy rainfall in upstream areas like Assam and Arunachal Pradesh in India in last 24 hours, but there is a huge possibility to occur heavy downpour in these upstream areas over the next two days, worsening the flood situation in Bangladesh.
The Brahmaputra-Jumuna, Ganges-Padma and Surma-Kushiyara rivers were showing a rising trend while the Brahmaputra-Jumuna river may likely to continue rising over the next 24 hours, says the flood forecast issued at 9:00am on Monday.
