The ruling Awami League will serve show cause notice to its member of the parliament Mohammad Enamur Rahman, for making controversial statement regarding cross-fire in an interview with a newspaper.
AL general secretary Obaidul Quader, following a meeting with party secretaries, told a press briefing on Sunday that they had decided to serve a show cause notice to its MP Enamur Rahman, also a physician, for his comment to a Bangla newspaper that he got five people killed by law enforcers in ‘crossfires’ and made a list of 14 others for killing them in ‘crossfire.’
Enamur gave the interview to Bangla daily Manab Zamin.
‘The interview was tarnishing the image of the party. We’d received complaints against the Savar MP and those were serious offence,’ Obaidul said.
‘Awami League will deposit party’s yearly earnings and expenditures report to the Election Commission on Monday,’ Quader
