Teacher harassed by JnU unit BCL president

The president of Jagannath university unit Bangladesh Chhatra League, ruling party backed student organization, allegedly harassed an assistant professor of the university on October 30.

Md Jafar Iqbal, also assistant proctor and assistant professor of Sociology department, filed a complaint regarding the matter this afternoon with vice-chancellor’s office, said VC’s personal secretary Syed Faruk Hossain.

According to the complaint, the university authorities were using a public address system for the admission seekers providing with necessary information on October 30 before the intake test.

While two students suddenly occupied the PA system and started delivering speech centring prime minister’s reception on her return from the US.

Later the teacher tried to refrain the speakers as the excessive sound of the PA system was disturbing the admission seekers while the a MBA student SM Shoriful Islam, also BCL president of the university along with his group of supporters came to the spot and started humiliate the teacher.

They also pushed the teacher at one point.

Meanwhile, the leader filed another complain stating that Jafar Iqbal barred them from using the mike as they were organizing a procession to receive the prime minister Sheikh Hasina on October 2.

He dined the allegation of harassment and also branded the teacher as alliance of Jamaat-Shibir.

VC’s personal secretary receive the complains on behalf of the VC.
