Director Saiful Islam Mannu’s autism-themed film Putra and two Hollywood films, Trolls and Doctor Strange, are going to be released in cinemas today.
Putra takes a critical look at the way children with autism are treated in Bangladesh, which hinders their development.
Produced by the government’s Department of Films and Publications, the film stars Ferdous, Jaya Ahsan, Fahim Muhtasin Farooque Lajim, Shewti, Dolly Zahur, Azizul Hakim, and Shormi Mala.
Meanwhile, Trolls and Doctor Strange will be released exclusively at the Star Cineplex, coinciding with their release in the United States.
Trolls is a 3D computer-animated musical buddy comedy directed by Mike Mitchell.
The film stars the voices of Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Zooey Deschanel, Russell Brand, James Corden and Gwen Stefani, and revolves around two trolls on a quest to save their village from destruction by the Bergens, creatures who devour trolls.
Doctor Strange is a superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character of the same name, a surgeon who searches for mystical power.
Directed by Scott Derrickson, it stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benjamin Bratt, Scott Adkins, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton.
