DLA expresses concern over flood situation

Democratic Left Alliance on Sunday in a statement expressed great concern over the country’s flood situation and urged the government to send emergency relief to the flood-affected areas.
Saiful Huq, coordinator of Democratic Left Alliance and general secretary of Bangladesh Biplobi Workers Party, Shubhrangshu Chakrabortty, central leader of Democratic Left Alliance, Mushrefa Mishu, general secretary of Democratic Revolutionary Party, Zonayed Saki, chief coordinator of Ganasanghati Andolan, Mosharraf Hossain Nannu, general secretary of United Communist League, and Hamidul Huq jointly made the statement.
They also called for taking necessary step for rehabilitation of the affected people, says the statement.
They blamed India for this situation as India opened all the gate of Farakka and Teesta Barrage.
At least 6.5 lakh people have been affected by flood in thirteen districts including northern districts such as Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Bogra etc.
In the statement, they demanded permanent solution to water sharing crisis.
