A Dhaka court on Tuesday again deferred the report submission date in the sensational murder of journalist couple Sagor Sarowar and Meherun Runi.
Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Khurshid Alam fixed August 23 as the Rapid Action Battalion failed to submit the report before it on Tuesday.
Eight people, Tanveer Rahman, Enam Ahmed alias Humayun Kabir, Rafiqul Islam, Bakul Mia, Mitu alias Bargira Mintu alias Masum Mintu, Kamrul Hasan Arun, Palash Rudra Paul and Abu Sayeed, are accused in the case.
Though all the accused were placed on remand more than once, none of them are yet to give confessional statement regarding the incident.
Sagar, news editor of private TV station Maasranga, and his wife Runi, senior reporter of another channel ATN Bangla, were killed in their rented flat in the capital’s West Rajabazar on February 11, 2012.
