The fourth edition of Bangladesh Premier League will get underway on Friday with Indian actress Sheena Chohan making a return as the anchor of the tournament’s Television show.
Channel 9 will once again be the official broadcaster of the cash-rich tournament and channels like SONY-ESPN, Premier Sports and Geo TV will make international broadcast.
Sheena, the glamorous model from Kolkata, hosted the first two editions of the tournament as anchor but Channel 9 cancelled their agreement with her during the last edition of BPL.
‘Some international channels will broadcast all the matches of this edition’s BPL throughout the world,’ informed the officials of Channel 9 at a press conference at Bangladesh Cricket Board office on Wednesday.
Officials of the host broadcaster said Sony ESPN will show the matches in Asia Pacific region, Premier Sports in UK and Geo TV will do that in Pakistan.
Channel 9 authority is also trying to negotiate with a few other Middle Eastern and Caribbean channels, they claimed.
During the press conference the organisers also informed that they will use the hi-tec and modern technologies to improve the quality of telecast.
‘We will use some modern technology to telecast,’ said Rajiv Kaul, technical head of Real Impact, the organisation dealing the technical aspects of the telecast.
‘We will use pitch cameras, ultra-motion and virtual graphics among some of the technologies,’ he added.
Along with Sheena, Bangladeshi model Ambrina Sarjeen will act as co-anchor.
Former Bangladesh player Athar Ali khan, former New Zealand paceman Danny Morrison, former Pakistani player Sikander Bakht are expected to be present at commentary box.
