Nawshad to sue attackers

Iftekhar Uddin Nawshad, owner of famous Madhumita Cinema Hall and Modhumita Movies, said he would sue the attackers, who had assaulted him while coming out of the Bangladesh Film Censor Board office at Eskaton on Wednesday.

While taking treatment at a hospital, Nawshad told New Age that he would file case against the attackers whom he could recognize. ‘I will not mention names before filing the case,’ Nawshad, said adding that he would file the case after getting release from the hospital.     

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Film Exhibitors’ Association leaders from a press conference held at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity demanded exemplary punishment of perpetrators who assaulted the association’s president Iftekharuddin Nawshad on Wednesday.

The press conference was attended by Bangladesh Film Exhibitors’ Association general secretary Kazi Shoib Rashid, former president Saiful Islam Chowdhury and chief advisor Sudipto Kumar.

Being a member of censor board, Nawshad went at the board office to watch censor show of Boss 2 and Nabab. He was assaulted by the agitators who were protesting at the release of the films Boss 2 and Nabab in front of the censor board office alleging that the films did not follow the guidelines of Joint Venture Film Policy and gave advantage to the Indians.
