A minor boy was beaten to death allegedly by a neighbour over previous enmity with his father at village Aladipur of Aminpur in Pabna.
Police recovered the body of Hafizul Islam, 8, son of Rajab Ali of the same village from a neighbour’s house and arrested two people in connection with the killing early Sunday.
The police, quoting Hafizul’s family members, said that had gone missing on Saturday afternoon after going out for playing games and then the body was recovered from the house of Dulal Mallick, a resident of the same village, who had enmity with Hafizul’s father Rajab Ali.
Tazul Huda, officer-in-charge of Aminpur police, said, ‘Dulal along with his family members had beaten Hafizul to death and then buried him in a room of his house.’ The OC added that the police had arrested Dulal and his wife Jobeda Khatun.
Tazul claimed that the arrested had confessed their involvement in the killing.
‘The enmity between Dulal and Hafizul’s father Rajab began when Rajab lent Tk 25,000 to Dulal’s son Selim Mollick few months ago. Rajab asked for the money back few days ago as Selim did not repay. Hafizul might be beaten to death over that issue,’ the OC said quoting family members and the arrested.
Hafizul’s body was sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.
