The leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists on Sunday said that initiatives would be taken to protect the rights of all journalists including those working at grassroots in the 9th Wage Board.
BFUJ secretary general Omar Faruque stated this at a view-exchange meeting with Gazipur Union of Journalists at the National Press Club in Dhaka.
Former BFUJ treasurer Mohammad Ataur Rahman chaired the view-exchange meeting.
Dhaka Union of Journalists president Shaban Mahmood and Gazipur Press Club president Professor Enamul Haque, among others, addressed the function.
Omar Faruque reiterated the demand of forming the 9th Wage Board immediately for journalists. ‘Tough movement will be waged after the Eid-ul-Fitr if our demand is not met,’ he said.
