Noted cardiologist and vice-president of National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh Professor RK Khandaker died of prolonged illness on Saturday night.
He was 87, a press release said on Sunday.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son.
Khandaker was suffering from diabetes, kidney diseases and old-age complications.
The cardiologist served as a professor at the foundation, National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and different medical colleges.
Executive Council of National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh, its officials and employees expressed profound shock at the death of the noted physician and extended their sympathy to the bereaved family.
