Actress Falguni Rahman Jolly has already created a buzz for her remarkable appearances in diverse characters in three films since her Dhallywood debut through Wajed Ali Sumon’s Angar in January 2016. With --more upcoming films the talented actress has already won hearts of viewers for her ability to play diverse roles and she is looking forward to take on new challenges.
In an interview with New Age the actress shared her journey to stardom, aspirations, hopes and dreams and more.
‘I was introduced to the film industry by production house Jazz Multimedia through their joint venture film Angar and have so far acted in three Jazz films. I played different characters in each film’, said Jolly.
A bit shy in the beginning of her career, Jolly is now more confident. The twenty-year old actress is determined to explore her true potentials by playing diverse roles in films. Her portrayal of a demented woman in Zakir Ahmed Raju’s Niyoti (released in 2016) and rural girl in Nader Chowdhury’s Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabe (released in 2017) won audience’s acclaim.
‘After playing the character of a girl suffering from dementia in Niyoti and a rural girl in Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabe I look forward to play more challenging characters,’ said Jolly, adding that a true artiste must have good acting skills alongside glamour.
Jolly learnt singing and dancing at Shishu Academy at an early age. However, when Jolly decided to take up acting in the movies her family did not approve of her decision to become a film actress.
‘Initially, my family did not support my decision of becoming a film actress. They opposed me vehemently and it was not until recently that I was able to convince them,’ said whose, who dreams of carving a niche for herself in Dhallywood.
Jolly has signed two films - Danger Zone and Ochena Prithibi. In both of the films Jolly will play totally different and interesting characters opposite hero Bappy Chowdhury.
In Danger Zone, Jolly will enact a tomboy girl while in Ochhena Prithibi the actress will play a typical romantic character.
‘I am here to stay. I want to establish myself through playing diverse characters in films,’ said Jolly, adding that she is now preparing herself for shooting of her upcoming films.
