Prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday expressed her grief over the raging fire engulfing a residential high-rise building in London as she is now in the British capital en-route Sweden.
‘While in London on my way to Sweden, I am deeply saddened to know the tragic incident of fire at the Grenfell Tower in West London,’ Sheikh Hasina said in a message to her British counterpart Theresa May.
The Bangladesh premier wished the British firefighters tireless efforts will help reduce the fatality and early recovery of the injured persons. She conveyed her deepest sympathy to British prime minister and her government at this critical time and said ‘our thought and prayers are with the members of the affected families’.
A massive fire engulfed a residential high-rise building in London, leaving scores injured and at least six people dead, according to ABC News.
