Popular band Chirkutt is set to release its third album titled ‘Udhao’ this Eid digitally with new line up.
The album, featuring six songs, will be released by the band four years after its second album Jadur Sohor released in 2012.
Udhao will be released online on Robi Yonder. However, Chirkutt fans will be able to collect the physical CDs of the album from music stores after Eid, said the band members.
Udhao will feature the songs like TV, Kew Jonak Jalo, Niyom Bujhi Na, Kata-taar, Tarunno and Udhao. All the songs of the album have been written by Sharmin Sultana Sumi, the vocalist of the band, while she wrote the song TV jointly with Saiful Akbar Khan.
Chirkutt released its debut album Chirkuttnama in 2010. The album gained huge popularity among the music lovers.
‘We have never compromised when it comes to quality of our songs which is a reason why we took our time to release the albums. After the release of our last album all of us have worked really hard and finally we are ready to release our third album,’ Sumi told New Age.
Speaking about the songs, Sumi said the band hopes to generate awareness among the young generation through the songs addressing different social and environmental issues.
‘The songs address the disappearance of greenery from the nature because of manmade aggressions, harmful influences of technology on people and others. The songs also celebrate the power of the young generation who can do good on earth,’ said Sumi.
The line up of Chirkutt comprises Sumi (vocal), Pavel Arin (drums), Emon Chowdhury (guitar and banjo), Zahid Nirob (keyboard) and Didar Hasan (bass).
