Two prime accused of Rangamati Juba League leader murder held

The army-led joint force arrested two main accused in Charmile area of Dighinala upazila in Khagrachari on Saturday in connection with killing of Langadu upazila Juba League leader Nurul Islam Nayan.

The arrestees were identified as Runel Chakma and Junel Chakma.

Following their statements, a diver team of Bangladesh Navy is operating a drive in Maini River to recover Nayan's missing motorcycle.

On June 1, Nurul Islam Nayan, 35, who used to carry passengers on his motorcycle in exchange for money, was found dead by a road in Dighinala.

His motorcycle remained missing after the incident.

As two hilly young men hired Nayan's bike for going to Dighinala, locals alleged that the duo killed him in a planned way.

A massive arson attack on June 2 was committed after recovery of the body of Nurul Islam Nayan while a septuagenarian ethnic minority woman was burnt to death and at least 300 houses were torched allegedly by the Bengali settlers at villages of Langadu.
