Blood donors awarded in Ctg

Maijbhandari Shah Emdadia Blood Donor’s Group awarded eight persons, who donated blood to the patients, in Chittagong on Friday. 
The blood donor’s group, a sufism-based volunteering organisation for donating blood, organised the award giving ceremony and the blood donor’s reunion at Maijbhandar Gausia Ahmadia Manzil conference hall in Fatikchary.
Maijbhandar’s upcoming successor and Maijbhandari Foundation chairman Syed Ahmad Hossain Mohammad Irfanul Hoque Maijbhandari handed over the awards as chief guest at the programme.
The awards were given to those, who donated more than ten bags of blood.
Organisation’s president Mahiuddin Enayet presided over the programme while Chittagong University associate professor Md Iqbal Sarwar, International Islamic University Chittagong assistant professor Md Morshedul Alam, Chittagong Diabetic Hospital’s nutritionist Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, addressed it as special guests.
Around 500 members of the organisation have been donating blood to the patients across the country since 2010, said the organisation’s general secretary Mohammad Sohel. 
He said they have donated around 1500 bags of blood from the beginning. 
Maijbhandari foundation also handed over the prizes to the students, who stood top positions in the competition titled ‘Merit Developing Programme 2017’ recently held in the district. 
Social Islami Bank AVP and Chawkbazar branch manager Abul Mansur, Maulana Joynal Abedin Siddique, Ali Asgar Chowdhury, professor Mejbaul Alam Shaibal, among others, were present at the programme.
