Bangladesh boy’s team became unbeaten champions in the ITF Asian 12 & Under Team Championship ‘South Asia Regional Qualifying’ as they beat hosts Nepal by 3-0 sets in the final in Kathmandu on Friday.
Rumman Hossain gave Bangladesh a 1-0 lead in the first match while Mehedi Hasan Alvi’s win in the second final confirmed the title.
Rumman and Jubair duo won their doubles match and completed the rout. Earlier, Bangladesh boy’s team and co-finalists Nepal qualified for the final round of the ITF Asian Under-12 Championship scheduled in Kazakhstan later this year.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Under-12 girl’s finished fourth in the tournament losing to Nepal 0-3 in the third place deciding match.
