Ethnic dancers perform at the show.

Children from various ethnic communities entertained the audience by presenting traditional dance at Independent University, Bangladesh, Bashundhara, Dhaka on Thursday, says a press release.
The School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences of IUB organised the event, which featured presentation of dance and songs by students of Moanoghar Residential High School, Rangamati and artistes from Madhupur’s Mandi tribe.
The artistes presented diverse dance forms like jhum dance, bamboo dance, changbi dance, bottle dance and sang traditional songs of ethnic communities including chakma song and others at the programme to the audience’s delight.
Chairman of board of trustees of IUB Rashed Chowdhury inaugurated the programme as the chief guest. Vice chancellor of IUB Prof M Omar Rahman delivered the welcome speech on the occasion.
Among others, dean of School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Dr Mahbub Alam, chairman of board of trustees of Chittagong Independent University Towhid Samad and others were present on the occasion.
